Class Offerings

Ashtanga Remix
Based on the principles and sequencing of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga designed to build tapas and work up a sweat! Surya namaskar warm up followed by side bending, standing poses, arm balances, seated forward folds, backbending, inversions and svasana. Incorporates postures from Ashtanga’s primary and intermediate series.

Ashtanga Mysore
Following the Ashtanga Vinyasa series of asanas established by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, students may come during this period to do their self-led practice with the direct 1:1 instruction from Cory. To apply go here: https://www.flowyogacenter.com/mysore/

Your First Mysore Class
Don’t worry! Just come! You don’t need to know the sequence. You don’t need to bring anything, except yourself and your mat. I will work with you to get you started. We’ll patiently progress you through the sequence so that you can gradually commit it to memory and then as you learn it, we’ll add on. It’s my job to be there for you to make sure you are maintaining good form and feeling good about your experience!

Apprenticeship
A program tailored to yoga teachers that wish to further develop their teaching skills through work directly with Cory. Program and pricing developed based on the requestor’s needs. Contact Cory directly at namaste@coryyoga.com to discuss further.

Teaching Style

You can expect to have a vigorous (aka, strong, healthy and full of energy!) experience that encompasses the full spectrum of yoga practices – from spiritual discourse to asana and pranayama to chanting and meditation. The simplest translation of asana is “seat” or “connection to the earth.” I strive to create a safe, fun, noncompetitive space wherein you may establish your seat and explore your inner self. In addition to informative, experience-based verbal cueing and extensive use of props, hands-on physical adjustments and a bit of humor are important components of my teaching.

Diversity Commitment

I am committed and open to engaging people from all walks of life – all colors, sizes, ages, and genders. Yoga is a lifelong practice and I consider it a priority to encourage and serve participation by everyone who wishes to engage. As Guruji Sri K Pattabhi Jois said, yoga is for everyone, except the lazy!
